Suzuki Announce New Model

This latest new model from Suzuki expands our middle weight adventure range and gives us all access to lots of new customer enquiries and sales. V-Strom 800RE is introduced as a road-biased adventure model and complements the existing off-road focused V-Strom 800DE (Dual Explorer). You will be delighted with the planned arrival time of V-Strom 800RE. It’s not far away, but please read on for full specifications.
Sharing a similar DR Big-inspired look as the 800DE, complete with an iconic beak and full LED lighting front and rear, the V-Strom 800RE is available in three colours.
Engine Design
At its heart, the new V-Strom 800RE uses the same 776cc parallel twin engine as its stablemate the 800DE, with its double overhead cam and 270° crankshaft design delivering a broad spread of torque for strong real-world performance. Its peak figures are 78Nm at 6,800rpm and 84.3PS at 8,500rpm.
Great news as this motor is already award winning in the GSX-8S and has been one of the standout and acclaimed features of both the existing 800 models. A ride-by-wire throttle connection provides a natural feel and connection to the rear wheel, while the standard bi-directional quickshifter paired with a slip and assist clutch makes gear changes slick and seamless.
Chassis Design
The frame, common with the excellent 800DE is engineered for a balance of straight-line stability and agile handling. While its full chassis package offers bespoke ergonomics to the 800RE, for the best possible riding experience and comfort. The narrow steel frame tubes, while strong also help optimise rider ergonomics and maximise fuel tank capacity, which comes in at 20 litres. This combined with the 64.12 MPG achieves a long riding range whether touring or commuting. A key differentiator on V-Strom 800RE is its 19” front and 17” rear cast aluminium wheels, with tubeless tyres.
High quality suspension is provided by Showa, with a focus on delivering superior on-road performance, along with easy and quick pre-load adjustment at the rear for taking luggage and a pillion. Stopping power comes from radially mounted four-piston Nissin calipers, with an ABS system that has 2 levels of adjustment. Further underlying this V-Strom's prowess as the tool to explore all roads, it comes with a low seat height of 825mm, with options to go even lower by 20mm or higher by 30mm from genuine accessory seats too.
Electronics Design
A tall and widescreen brings ample weather and wind protection on longer road rides. Beneath that screen, a 5” colour TFT display with dual modes for day or night time riding, clearly shows all the information required by the rider, including the current setting selected from its three-mode traction control system, the current power mode selected, and the switchable ABS setting too. There’s also a handy USB port located on the left-hand side for smartphone or navigation charging.
