The Next Generation MT-125

POSTED: 22/10/2026

Meet the Next-Generation 2027 Yamaha MT-125

Sharper, leaner and more aggressive than ever, the next-generation Yamaha MT-125 is here, bringing a bold new look, fresh colour options and unmistakable MT attitude to the 125cc class.

For 2027, Yamaha has given the MT-125 a serious makeover, bringing its styling in line with the latest generation of its bigger MT brothers while retaining the performance, handling and technology that have made the lightweight Hyper Naked such an exciting choice for riders.

With an aggressive new face, leaner silhouette, updated lighting and eye-catching colour schemes, the 2027 Yamaha MT-125 looks ready to make an even bigger statement on the street.

For riders looking for their first taste of Yamaha's Hyper Naked range, the new MT-125 combines serious big-bike attitude with the accessibility of the 125cc class.

UK pricing and availability have not yet been announced and will be confirmed at a later date.

A bold new face

The biggest change is impossible to miss.

The 2027 MT-125 receives an all-new sharp and angular front-end design, complete with a dark smoke-transparent front mask and a frosted-effect MT-125 logo. New blade-like LED position lights and LED indicators create an even more distinctive appearance while providing increased visibility.

That aggressive new face is matched by a redesigned seat, giving the MT-125 a stretched, leaner silhouette and improving both ergonomics and the connection between rider and machine.

More aggressive from every angle

The changes carry through the rest of the bike too.

A newly sculpted fuel tank adds to the MT-125's muscular urban appearance while also improving rider comfort. Yamaha says the new shape is designed to work whether you're taking a relaxed riding position through the city or adopting a more aggressive stance through the bends.

There's also a distinctive new textured panel on the side fairing, featuring a transparent smoked, glitch-pattern finish with the MT logo visible underneath. A bold new '125' side graphic across the tank adds another fresh detail to each colour version.

Four colours, including the new Redline White

The new MT-125 will be available in four colour options, shown below, and all four feature the new '125' tank graphic, giving the latest model an even more distinctive look.

Technology to keep you connected

Behind the fresh styling, the MT-125 continues to offer plenty of technology.

A five-inch TFT display provides smartphone connectivity through Yamaha's free MyRide app, along with integrated turn-by-turn navigation. Connectivity also allows riders to manage calls, music and messages while on the move.

The MyRide app adds route tracking and creation, along with riding information including lean angle and distance covered, and gives riders the ability to add pictures and share their journeys.

Familiar MT performance underneath

Although the styling has taken a big step forward, some of the MT-125's proven ingredients remain.

The 2027 machine retains its 125cc VVA engine, Deltabox frame, 41mm upside-down forks and 810mm seat height, maintaining the handling, grip and control associated with the model.

Fiveways Motorcycle Centre LTD  is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Fiveways Motorcycle Centre LTD to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
